SRI LANKA PHILIPPINES BUSINESS COUNCIL (SLPBC)

Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the year 2016 in the presence of the Sri Lankan Ambassador in Manila, Excellency Aruni Ranaraja and Non-Resident Ambassador in Philippine Embassy Dhaka, Bangladesh Excellency Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo, between Sri Lanka Philippines Business Council of Sri Lanka and the Philippines Sri Lanka Business Council of the Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In this MOU the two bodies agreed to set up a Joint Business Council (JBC) to carry out business promotional activities in trade, investment, technology transfer, services and other industrial sectors more systematically. .

The Objectives of the Council shall be:

• To improve the bilateral relationship among the two countries, especially in the areas of trade and tourism
• To promote trade, services and business between Sri Lanka and Philippines
• To encourage joint meeting, seminars, etc. in Sri Lanka and Philippines
• To explore possibilities and actively assist in the setting up of joint ventures in Sri Lanka and Philippines.
